Hello everyone,

I apologise for my recent absence – I’ve been busy finishing off my coursework and now that it’s all done, I bring to you some very exciting stuff!

This year marks the 150th birthday of the remarkable Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The Evelina London, put plainly, is the reason that I am alive today. The leading children’s hospital saved my life on countless occasions, including providing me with ground breaking treatments for heart and kidney failure, brain and spinal tumours and surgery that has enabled me to walk when I was told that I never would again.

After my first open heart surgery at the Evelina

Not only this, but the Evelina London has lead me to some of the dearest people in my life – Hannah and Katie – whose lives have also been saved by the Evelina London. We have become close friends and have made the most amazing memories together. I’m so grateful to have met them and that the Evelina brought us together.

MEMORIES: Hannah, Katie and I at Disneyland.

In aid of our incredible hospital’s HUGE birthday, we decided we would like to give back to the place that is such an integral part of the people we have become today. Together, we formulated the idea of a campaign in which we would encourage all our friends, family and the general public, to help us fundraise for this hospital. And we aren’t going small. Out total fundraising target is….

£1000 for every year the Evelina London has be around, treating children.

The #THANKYOUFOR150EVELINA campaign will run throughout the whole of 2019 and anyone from anywhere is welcome to join us and raise some money to contribute to the total!

My mum, Jo, and I will be abseiling down the side of St Thomas’s Hospital (Evelina’s parent hospital) in May in aid of our campaign and there’s much more to come throughout the year!

My lovely mum, Jo, and I.

We’re relying on you to help us reach our target. Whether it be a bake sale, a coffee morning, a run, a walk, a cycle…you name it, get your friends and family together and raise some money for this amazing hospital!

We’ll be making a Virgin Money Giving Page very soon so keep your eyes peeled! I’ll be bringing you updates throughout the year so don’t miss out and get BRAINSTORMING for your fundraising ideas!

You can read more about the amazing work the Evelina London does here.
